NHS 111 Service

NHS 111 has been introduced to make it easier for you to access local NHS healthcare services in England. You can call 111 when you need medical help fast but it’s not a 999 emergency. NHS 111 is a fast and easy way to get the right help, whatever the time.

NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.

Lincoln Walk In Centre

The Lincoln walk in centre is a nurse led service, no appointment is necessary for minor illnesses and injuries, health advice and information.


Opening Hours

The centre is open from 8am – 8pm seven days a week.

It is also open bank holidays (except Christmas Day and Easter Sunday).

Patients may be redirected to an alternative service if the centre is still very busy near to closing time.

The walk in centre will provide treatment for:


Minor injuries, cuts and grazes

Minor illnesses

Minor scalds and burns

Strains and sprains

Bites and stings

Ear and throat infections

Emergency contraception

Minor skin infections / rashes

Minor eye conditions / infections

Stomach upsets

Coughs and colds

Other common illnesses


Health promotion & health screening advice

The Lincoln walk in centre will aim to see you within 30 minutes of being booked in at reception.  The centre will send a record of your consultation to your own GP.  For consultations provided for children it will be sent to their health vsitor.


The walk in centre will not provide treatment for:

Road traffic injury

Head injury – loss of consciousness

Chest pains

Overdose of drugs or accidental drinking of chemicals

Severe allergic reactions

In these or similar instances you will need to make an appointment with your own GP or in the case of an emergency you should attend your local accident and emergency department or call 999.


The walk in centre does not issue doctor’s certificates or repeat prescriptions.
